Tips Before Hitting the Slopes
Before heading out on any holiday it is always important to keep safety in mind, but especially when you are venturing onto the slopes. Here are a few tips and suggestions to keep in mind before your next ski adventure in Wisconsin:
Stretch ' Always be sure to stretch your major muscles before hitting the slopes. Having tight muscles can cause injuries that could have you off the slopes for the rest of your holiday.
Drink Water ' When you combine exercise, dehydration and high altitude, you run the risk serious nausea and altitude sickness so to avoid this drink plenty of water.
Take lessons - If you are new to skiing or are not yet comfortable with your ability it is not a bad idea to take some lessons to learn what to do, and get advice. Consider learning on a dry-ski slope beforehand and improve your fitness before you go on holiday.
Be aware of your surroundings - watch out for piste preparation machines and anything else, which might get in your way. You must always give priority to those below you on the slope
Try before you buy - Never buy equipment just because it looks good. Standard procedure at most ski shops is to rent out equipment in the hope you will then buy it.
