How does one house that much history?
The Kenosha County Historical Society currently cares for thousands of important area documents, antiques and archives. So where does the Society store these important references to the past? Inside the Kenosha History Center, of course. The Kenosha History Center features a campus composed of two impressive buildings. The first building, the Kenosha History Center proper, houses three exhibit galleries, main offices, a gift shop and archives. The second building is the restored Southport Light Station. It houses a fourth gallery. The Southport Light Station will also house a lighthouse and maritime museum once the structure has completed a full restoration program.
